The third in the series were lectures,
'Professor Nirmal Kumar Bose and his Contribution to Indian Temple Architecture' and 'The
Pratistha-Laksanasamuccaya and the Architecture of Kalinga' delivered by Dr. M. A.
Dhaky. The first of these brought out the ideas of Prof. N. K. Bose regarding temple
architecture as contained in his works: Canons of Orissan Architecture, Indian
Temple Designs, and Designs from Orissan Temples. The second lecture explained the
Prtistha-Laksanasamuccaya dealing with temple architecture along with the exposition of
association, preliminary consideration, procedures and rituals.

Varanasi. He is a historian and researcher of ancient and medieval Indian art and
architecture. He received the 'Kumara' silver medal for his notable writings
on art and architecture from the stand point of art interpretation. |
