The nine planets like the sun, moon, mars, Jupiter, Mercury, Venus, and Saturn are worshipped on all auspicious events. There are specific Vedic hymns on all the planets which are recited and a vedic sacrifice is performed for them. All these Planets are invoked in individual vessels / kumbhas with water / kalaśa and worshipped. Each planet has its own colour represented by coloured cloth and at the end the sanctified water is prinkled on the yāgaśālā and other parts of the temple premises.
